10-Week OB Appointment

Only because they told me at last month's appointment, was I expecting to hear the baby's heartbeat today. I say 'only' because I thought 12 weeks was the marker for this event. I read in my pregnancy book that it COULD be as early as 10-12 weeks. So anyway, 10 weeks proved to be too early for me. After several minutes, we still only heard my heart. Of course I was disappointed at first, but there are actually a couple of great positives about this.

For (1), Scott didn't miss it after all since he's still out of town for work. He'll finally be back tomorrow Thank God. (It's been a long week without him xoxo.) And (2) at my 2nd appointment they wanted to be able to have a measurement marker, and not being able to hear the fetal heartbeat just yet pretty much gives them nothing until next month's appointment. SO, they ordered an ultrasound so they can go ahead and see the heartbeat and start measurements to confirm/fine-tune my due date. Because my insurance only pays for 1 regular ultrasound, this is like an additional one that I'll get to have (next Tuesday). I always enjoyed the ultrasounds with Josh. So cool.

What else, I lost 4 lbs. which is great! That means I've been doing something right by eating healthier and drinking less soda, etc. Yay! I hope to do just as good as my pregnancy with Josh which was gaining only 15 lbs. total. I ate so much better that as he grew, I lost fat. Gotta love that!

That's it for now. I'm going to sleepers now. I went to bed too late last night and was unable to take a nap today. So my lack of rest has given me a headache all evening. Time to turn in. ZZzz z z
