Cal is 6 months old!

Another 6 weeks later. . . I get a moment to blog again . . . :)

So my little baby is not so little these days. I can't believe it's been 6 months already since he was born. It's so true that time goes by faster and faster as you get older (and probably the more kids you add to the family, haha).

Blue eyes are still here! And his hair is much lighter than when he first arrived. I won't know how much he weighs until his Wednesday doctor appointment, but I'm guessing around 16 lbs since he was about 14 lbs 2 months ago.

Cal is almost sitting up on his own. He actually does, but only for a few seconds. But he is progressing fast. I think we'll both be happy when he can sit up so he can play with his toys more easily. :) He's been rolling over back and forth for a while now. I put him in the crib one way, and there's no telling what position I'll find him in when I go back to get him.

When Cal started quickly finishing off an 8 oz. bottle, I knew it was time to start rice cereal. I started him off slowly, probably more because I was lazy and didn't want to spoon feed him all the time. I know, I'm terrible. Bottle feeding was much easier. But he's full-on eating solids now! After his bottle, he'll eat a baby bowl full of rice cereal and a whole jar (actually they're little plastic tubs now for Step 1 food) of fruit or vegetables. He's a good eater like Josh was.

Entertaining himself by being able to grab onto toys has been a life saver too. He's learning new motorskills every day. So cute. Keeps him quiet for a little while too. :)

Mr. Droolbox has also been teething. I'm thinking his middle bottom teeth will pop through any day now. His little gums are so white there. And again, it's awesome he knows how to grab something and gnaw on it for a while.

It's been 110 degrees here, average, for the last week or two. So it's nice to get in the water since it's just too hot to do anything else outside. I was glad to finally find a baby float that had an age as young as 6 months; most start at 9 months. Also because it's so hot, when you get in the water, it's just perfect. There's no sudden chill factor which helps when I'm getting him in the water. He loves it. He just lies back and chews on a toy all the while making lots of baby jibber jabber - oh yeah, he's talking lots too.

Josh has been a great big brother. He gets concerned when Cal cries. Shortly after it starts, Josh often comes up to me "Mommy, Cow cie." Like I needed the reminder or announcement, haha! This evening was especially cute as Cal was sitting on my lap. Every time Josh came up to Cal to say Hi, or anything for that matter, Cal would squeal with excitement and laugh. He was so happy to see his big brother every time he came around the corner. So sweet.
